This Table is intended to bring some transparency to the wild wild world of Domain Registration.
In compiling this Table we didn't take into account any promotions since they distort the real pricing scheme.
The biggest problem with 1&1 is that it CHARGES just to transfer a name. And it DOES NOT add years. And it doesn't disclose that info amywhere.
1&1  usa provides ok service overall. Lately though, it started charging $10  for .biz domains & $22 for .cc, which you can register elsewhere for $6.
There are rumors that 1&1 will raise registration fees by the end of the year. And yes, 1&1 prices went up.
Also, when you transfer domains to 1&1 it automatically changes hosting info & in effect kills your active website.
1&1 Europe is apparently is a diff beast. Price are through the roof. Service is lacking. Is that what we should expext in the future at USA?
Godaddy is run by a nice gay fella Bob Parsons who picks the worst-looking gals to be his spokeswomen. He's running the Superbowl commercials - and you're paying for them!
The pricing at GoDaddyis is one of the craziest on the web. In order to get a discount from his high registration prices one has to scout the web for the coupons.
GoDaddy is trying to shtup you at every turn with useless services at inflated prices. They also tend to charge you for services you never intended to buy.
eNom doesn't allow payments for a single domain. The buyer must send at a minimum $100. eNom instantly charges $3 dollars just for the privilege
of dealing with them.  At a later point the buyer finds that his/her $100 was dissipated without any meaningful accounting statement.
A number of Affiliates of eNom & GoDaddy put in place additional restrictions on domain accounts.
Thousand of domains are lost every year to Registrars' incompetence & greed
BuyDomains wouldn't let you know what you pay for registration till you finish the entire process &
provide your credit card for payment.
NameScout is suffering from sclerosis. It believes that it manages zillions of domains which people moved away years ago
PowerPipe is stealing domains from its customers. Also, it wouldn't release or transfer domains without a ransom
Yahoo often can't transfer your domain. Instead, Yahoo would charge you the full fee and suggest you keep the old registrar and point it to Yahoo.
The fee is non-refundable. The phone support is either poor or non-existent.
Moniker is the undefeated champion of all registrar assholes. Run by Monte Cahn out of his apartment it reeks any way you look.
Monte can arbitrarily deny you access to you account, your domains, your money. Even more than that. He would change DNS setting on your domains
or would prevent you from transferring to another registrar. His brokering fees are the highest in the business, 3 times what SEDO would charge.
And yet he delivers the worst results for the aftermarket. Stay away!
NameCheap::  These guys have horrible service WATCH OUT!
I have never had such a bad experiance in my life with an online company as I did with this one.
